Explore with the Miracle Hunter: Puebla
Sebastian of Aparicio was born in 1502 in Galicia, Spain, to a poor family. After surviving the plague in 1514, he emigrated to Mexico, working as a laborer. Noticing the need for better transportation, he built roads and became wealthy. His most famous road connected Mexico City to Zacatecas.
At 60, he entered two virginal marriages, both of which ended in widowhood. At 72, he gave away his wealth, joined the Franciscans. Known as the “Angel of Mexico,” Sebastian died in 1600 at the age of 98. He was beatified in 1787 and is considered the patron of travelers, drivers, and road builders. His body remains incorrupt, and over 300 miracles were cited during his beatification process.
