Short film Beyond home follows the fate of a young Tine, who decides to search for his father in distant America after his family loses their farm. Amid life's trials and dangers, Tine and his sister Manca escape from a cruel foster parents. Their adventure takes them through diverse worlds, from the harsh countryside to the vibrant bustle of the city. The film reveals a struggle for survival, loss, and yearning while emphasizing the strength of family bonds and hope for a better future.

The film is an adaptation of a collection of literary works by Franc Ksaver Meško, a writer and poet from the first half of the 20th century, following the documentary Time of Wonder. Themes of children's literature about the wonder of the world and the search for paradise on Earth intertwine with themes from adult works about the difficulties of life, loss, and disappointment. With exceptional sensitivity and a deep understanding of the human soul, Ksaver Meško touches on both, so the film is a reflection of the spirit of his works.
